Sugarcane Production Efficiency: A Case Study on PTPN X Partner Farmers

The low production and productivity of sugarcane is a problem for the sugar industry in Indonesia, while demand increases yearly. One efforts to increase improving efficiency farming. Appropriate farming identification inefficient resources can productivity. PTPN X, as company engaged plantation industry, obtains most raw materials from partner farmers. This study aimed 1) determine technical, allocative, economic 2) analyze managerial characteristics farmers that affect technical inefficiency uses stochastic frontier Cobb-Douglas function approach dual cost function. results show average level farming's are 0.762; 1.315; 0.976, respectively. shows has been economically efficient.
